5 things to do in the garden this Spring!

We’re officially in Spring! Winter is over, and with the warmer months come some of the most important months for your garden. There’s a lot you can do for your garden this season, so get out there and start before it’s too late!

Whether you have a green thumb or not, these easy tips are perfect for all levels of gardening expertise. If you want your garden to truly thrive in these coming months, take at this quick guide below!

1. Trimming

Many plants will wither and decay during the harsh winter weather, that’s just an unfortunate fact. Check your plants for any dead leaves or damaged patches, and prune away any withered parts to encourage healthy growth in the warmer weather. Be careful not to trim off any growing buds!

Spring is a super important time to take care of your lawn. Make sure to aerate your yard and sprinkle some fertiliser to keep it bright and green. Also be sure to clear any remnants from the winter months to keep your lawn tidy, and keep an eye out for any patches that may benefit from some re-seeding.

4. Time to plant

This is the perfect time to start planting! Soil moisture is often quite high after winter, giving your new plants a great environment to grow and thrive. Longer, warmer days with tons of sunlight will encourage your plants to grow fast. It’s also best to get your plants big and healthy before the warmer weather in summer – a heatwave is no environment for a seedling!
