Following are the tools used by tilers in the trade;

Grout Applicator, Spreader & Remover:

A grout applicator is the main tool used for installing tiles properly in a way to prevent moisture under the tiles. The grout is made with sand and it fills up to keep the tiles free of seams. A spreader is used to spread all the grout evenly and equally on the area whereas a grout remover is used to remove access grout from the tile or surface.

Notched Adhesive Spreader & Multiple Notches Spreader:

A notched adhesive spreader is used to fix ceramic tiles, vinyl tiles and carpets with adhesive mixtures. Notched Adhesive Spreader contains a pointed notched on one end whereas a multiple notches spreader contains notches on every side.

Tiling Sponge:

It is a broad sponge that is used for washing and cleaning tiles and boards. It is used to remove the access grout and for cleaning access residue from the tiles.

Tile Spacers:

You cannot install tiles without the help of a tile spacer. They are used to create a specific and equal distance between the tiles. Tile spacers are available in T, cross, and wedged shape.

Tile Cutters & Borer Tile Adjuster:

Tile cutters are long knife-shaped tools that are used to cut the tiles either manually or by powering them through electricity. Notched float:

A notched or a grout float is used to apply thin mortar or any kind of adhesive mixture on a surface mostly on wooden material. It is a thin notched corners rectangular blade attached to a handle.

Glass cutter metal & plastic body:

Glass cutters are pen-shaped thin but sharp tools that are used to give a customized shape to glassware. It comes with a metal and a plastic body for a strong grip.

Flooring scraper:

Floor scrapers are used to make sure that the surface is even from all sides and gives a smooth texture. It can also be used to remove the excess adhesive material from the surface.

Contour gauge:

A contour gauge is a tool used for measuring different cross-sectional shapes of the surface. It contains pins of plastic or steel set opposite to each other in a single frame. The frame keeps the pins firm on their position for better measurement.

A caulking gun is used to fill in the gap that usually occurs due to small cracks around bathtubs, doors or windows. It is a gun-shaped tool and comes handy for filling out small cracks to make it smooth.
