The Car-Rep RUBBERcomp Removable Rubber 1L is a versatile, air-drying synthetic rubber coating designed to create a flexible and protective finish across a wide variety of suitable surfaces. RUBBERcomp can be applied by spraying, brushing or dipping and helps protect coated items against moisture, acids, abrasion, corrosion and slipping. Once applied, the coating remains flexible and stretchy rather than becoming brittle or cracking, even in demanding weather conditions. Available in four colour options, RUBBERcomp is ideal for automotive customisation, protective coatings, tools, equipment and a wide range of DIY applications.

Paint Gun Application

Before application, thoroughly clean the surface to remove oil, grease, dirt, wax and loose rust.

For spray-gun application, thin RUBBERcomp at approximately:

1L RUBBERcomp to 450ml thinner (±5%)

Mix thoroughly before use.

For pneumatic spray guns:

• Maximum pressure: 2.5 bar
• Recommended nozzle size: 1.1–2.0mm
• Electric spray guns should be adjusted according to the manufacturer's requirements.

Always perform a sufficiently large test application before coating the final surface. Begin with the spray gun at its minimum setting and gradually increase until an even, wet coating is achieved without runs or dripping.

For best results, apply a minimum of four coats, following the complete RUBBERcomp technical and application instructions.

Approximate Coverage

Coverage figures are based on 1 litre of ready-thinned coating:

• 1 coat: Approx. 6–8m²
• 4 coats: Approx. 1.5–2m²
• 6 coats: Approx. 1.0–1.3m²

A minimum of four coats is recommended for general applications, while approximately six coats are recommended for vehicle surface treatments.

Recommended Quantity for Vehicles

When applying approximately six coats:

• Small vehicle – approx. 6m²: 4.5–6L of pre-thinned coating
• Medium vehicle – approx. 8m²: 6–8L of pre-thinned coating
• Large vehicle: 8–10L of pre-thinned coating

Actual requirements may vary depending on the application method, surface, coating thickness and operator technique.

Drying Times

At approximately 20°C and 50% relative humidity:

• Dust-dry: Approx. 20 minutes
• Touch-dry: Approx. 40 minutes
• Completely dry: Approx. 10 hours
• Final hardness: Approx. 2 days

The recommended application temperature is approximately +18°C to +25°C. Lower temperatures may increase drying times and can affect the quality of the finished surface.
